This adult fruit dessert takes flavors from margarita. Tequila and triple sec select the melons, which also receive a spray of lemon juice and a sprinkle of coarse salt. The longer the melon is soaked, the more aromatic it becomes – another reason to keep the leftovers. Source: Martha Stewart Living, July 2009. One hour 5 min 4 Total time Prep Doses Ingredients 1 small seedless melon, red or yellow, sliced and cut into 1 inch thick wedges 1 cup sugar 3/4 cup water 1/2 cup tequila 1/4 cup Triple Sec 2 limes, halved or sliced into wedges Kosher or coarse salt instructions 1. Arrange the melon in a single layer in two 9-by-13-inch baking dishes. Prepare the sugar, water, tequila, and Triple Sec for boiling in a small saucepan. Cook, stirring, until the sugar dissolves, about 1 minute. Let cool slightly. Pour the syrup over the melon wedges, and refrigerate for at least 45 minutes. 2. Remove the melon from the syrup and arrange on a platter. Squeeze the limes over the melon and season with salt.
