This granola service is homemade with regular milk and fresh fruit for a sweet and healthy breakfast. The source: Everyday Food, October 2011. Makes 5 cups. Ingredients: 1/3 cup of uncooked molasses (not black bubbles), 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of coarse salt, 3 cups of rolled oats (not quick-cooking), 1 cup of shredded coconut, 1 cup of chopped pecans. Directions: 1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar molasses, oil, cinnamon, and salt. Add the oats, coconut, and pecans; stir gently with a rubber spoon until the oats are completely coated. Transfer to a lined baking sheet and spread in a layer. Bake the mixture occasionally until the oats turn a light brown color, from 25 to 30 minutes (be careful, as the mixture burns easily). Allow to cool completely on the sheet on a wire rack, 30 minutes.
