This autumn salad is perfect as a side dish for Thanksgiving turkey or daily roasted pork chops or lamb. The recipe is from Daily Food, November 2010. The ingredients include 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, 2 tablespoons of champagne vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, coarse salt and pepper, 1 head of hollowed-out, trimmed and sliced into 1/2-inch pieces, 1 large head of frisee, trimmed and torn into bite-sized pieces, 1/2 cup of dried cranberries, and 1/2 cup of roughly chopped roasted pistachios. To make the salad, mix the oil, vinegar, and sugar in a medium bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Add lettuce, frisee, cranberries, and pistachios. Toss to combine; season with salt and pepper.
