These caramelized and juicy peaches with hints of cinnamon and bourbon (or rum) make a dreamy topping for ice cream. Martha made this recipe for Martha Bakes event 505. The ingredients include 4 peaches, halved, pitted, and sliced into 1/2-inch thick wedges, 1/2 lemon juice, 1/4 tsp coarse salt, ground cinnamon, 4 tbsp (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar, and 2 tbsp bourbon or dark rum (optional). Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired. To make, toss the peaches, lemon juice, salt, and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Melt the butter and sugar in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the peach mixture and cook, stirring occasionally, until caramelized, about 5 minutes. If using bourbon or rum, add to the skillet and cook until reduced, about 1 minute. Serve immediately with ice cream if desired.
