Kochs Notizen

These donuts are delicious hot or cold and make an excellent snack as well as a side dish that goes with almost anything. The recipe is from Martha Stewart Kids, Spring 2002 and yields about 3 dozen. To make them, youll need all-purpose flour, baking powder, ground nutmeg, paprika, eggs, cottage cheese, fresh or frozen peas, cream, canola oil, and salt. Mix the dry ingredients, add the eggs, cottage cheese, and peas, and fold in the whipped cream. Fry the dough in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, then sprinkle with salt and let cool before serving. If using fresh peas, blanch them for a minute or two before adding them to the dough. Frozen peas can be added without additional cooking. Enjoy!
