This spicy “cake” is full of pasta, tomato sauce, and cheese. A springform pan allows it to maintain its shape. It takes only a few minutes to assemble the dish in a pan. Source: Martha Stewarts Kids, Spring 10 Doses Ingredients Salt 1 kilogram of pasta 2 tablespoons of olive oil 1 pound of ground meat (beef, pork, or turkey) 2 cloves of garlic, chopped 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes Oil, for pan 1 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese 8 ounces coarsely grated mozzarella cheese Instructions 1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta; cook until slightly underdone. Drain, rinse with cold water, and drain again. Toss the pasta with 1 tablespoon of oil to coat. Set aside. 2. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the meat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until browned, about 10 minutes. Add the garlic, 1 teaspoon of salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes. Add the tomatoes; simmer for about 20 minutes. 3. Grease a 9-inch springform pan. Toss the pasta with Parmesan. Pack the pasta tightly into the pan, placing each piece on its end. 4. Spread 2 cups of meat sauce over the pasta, pressing into the openings. Bake for 15 minutes. Sprinkle the mozzarella on top. Bake until the cheese is pale golden, another 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and let stand for 15 minutes. Run a knife around the edge to loosen; unmold. Cut into wedges. Serve with the remaining sauce.
