Source: Martha Stewart Living, June 2010 3 hours 20 minutes 20 minutes 12 Total time prep Servings ingredients Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper 3 tablespoons light brown sugar 3 tablespoons chili powder 4 plates of pork spareribs (about 2 1/4 pounds) 1 1/2 cups Tangy barbecue sauce Safflower oil, for brushing instructions 1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Combine 1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon salt, 1 1/2 teaspoons pepper, sugar, and chili powder. Rub spice mixture evenly over both sides of ribs. Arrange ribs, bone side down and slightly overlapping, on two curved baking sheets. Cover tightly with parchment-lined foil and bake until tender, 2 1/2 to 3 hours. 2. Divide barbecue sauce in half; reserve 1 half for serving. Heat grill to medium-high. Brush grates with oil. Remove ribs from baking sheets and grill, turning occasionally and brushing with barbecue sauce, until charred, 2 to 5 minutes. Cut between each rib and serve with remaining barbecue sauce.
