This recipe for a giant cheese popover comes from chef Laurent Tourondels cookbook “Bistro Laurent Tourondel: New American Bistro Cooking”. The recipe was featured on Martha Stewarts show in the fall of 2007. The recipe makes 12 popovers and requires flour, salt, milk, eggs, and gruyere cheese. The popovers are baked in a preheated popover pan at 350 degrees for 15 minutes, then rotated and baked for an additional 35 minutes until golden brown. The popovers can be served immediately or reheated in a 450-degree oven. Martha Stewart also offers a variation of the recipe, making a popover sandwich with spinach, bacon, and fried eggs.
