Italian cured ham – dry-cured Italian ham – sweet taste, salty, pleasant aroma. Because it is so delicious, it takes a long way to go. Try tasting these pork chops with Lemon Lima Beans and Parmesan. This recipe is from Daily Food in June 2006. It takes 25 minutes to prepare and cook, and serves 4. The ingredients include 4 boneless pork loin chops (5 to 6 ounces each), coarse salt and pepper, 2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme leaves, 4 slices of ham (about 2 ounces in total), 2 teaspoons olive oil, and lemon wedges (optional). The method is to season the pork chops with salt and pepper, sprinkle thyme leaves on each one, press down to help them stick to the meat. Wrap 1 slice of Italian cured ham in the middle of each one, like a belt; press the ends to seal. Heat the oil in a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Cook the chops until golden brown and cooked through, about 4 to 5 minutes per side. (If necessary, cook in two batches to avoid crowding.) Serve with lemon wedges if desired.
