The ingredients include 5 tablespoons of unsalted butter, softened, plus more for pan, 1 cup of hulled, sliced strawberries, 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 cup sugar, and 2 large eggs. The directions involve preheating the oven to 350 degrees, buttering an 8×4-inch loaf pan, bringing the strawberries to a boil in a small saucepan, and stirring for 1 minute. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour with baking soda, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt. In a separate mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and eggs until light and fluffy. Add the flour mixture alternately with 1/3 cup water, starting and ending with flour. Fold in reserved strawberries. Scrape the batter into the prepared pan, smooth the top, and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 1 hour (tent with foil after 45 minutes if the top is getting too dark).
