The recipe takes 20 minutes to prepare and serves 8. The ingredients include 3 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil, 1 clove of garlic (minced and peeled), 1 small celery stalk (chopped), a few slices of red chili pepper, 2 heads of lettuce (trimmed and cut into 1-inch strips, about 10 cups), coarse salt, and freshly ground black pepper. The directions involve heating the oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat, adding garlic, celery, and red chili pepper, sautéing until the celery is softened and golden brown, adding lettuce, seasoning with salt and pepper, covering and occasionally cooking until the lettuce is completely wilted and the liquid has evaporated, for 10 to 12 minutes.
