This recipe was adapted from “The Martha Stewart Living Cookbook: The Original Classics”. Source: Martha Stewart Living, February/March 1994. The dish consists of braised beef with root vegetables and creamy mashed potatoes. The recipe includes a bouquet garni made with celery, rosemary, thyme, bay leaves, and garlic, which adds a wonderful depth of flavor to the dish. The beef is browned in butter and then simmered in red wine and stock until tender. Carrots are added towards the end of cooking to add sweetness and color.
