The salmon is confident in taste and will defend its position excellently when combined with reliable ingredients such as bitter greens, sharp cheese, garlic, and red pepper. Source: Martha Stewart Living, May 2016. This recipe takes 30 minutes to prepare, 20 minutes to cook, and serves 6. Ingredients include 1 kilogram of pasta, coarse salt, 1 bunch of broccoli rabe (about 1 pound), cut into 2-inch pieces, 1/4 cup of extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for rinsing, 4 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced, 1/4 teaspoon of hot red pepper flakes, plus more for serving, 1/2 cup of finely grated Pecorino Romano (2 ounces), plus more for serving, and 1 can (6 ounces) of wild salmon, drained. Instructions include cooking the pasta and broccoli rabe in salted boiling water, reserving 1 cup of pasta water, combining oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes in a pot, adding pasta, broccoli, cheese, and reserved pasta water, folding in salmon, and serving with more cheese, red pepper flakes, and drizzled oil.
